German Shepherd Rescue of Illinois

As you know, GSR is always willing to provide medical care due to donations from special people who sponsor special needs dogs and donate to assist our general rescue efforts of our favorite breed.

An Adoption Day is an event where you can meet GSR and find out more about dogs that are available for adoption, meet some of the dogs, apply for adoption and/or foster care of a dog and you may adopt a dog at the event (with an approved application).

GSR will be at Petsmart in Northbrook, IL on the 1st Saturday of the month. The 3rd Saturday or Sunday of each month is scheduled at various pet stores in the area.

Annual Picnic for our rescued German Shepherds and their families.  Saturday, June 29 from noon to 4 pm

Where:  German Shepherd Dog Training Club of Chicago, 4925 County Farm Road, Hanover Park, IL.  

Special attractions this year:

*German Shepherd Rescues’s ninth  Rescue Dog Parade.

Please bring your information to read when you  are in the Parade.  Include your dogs name, when rescued, current name, date of adoption

a brief story and your name.

*Selection of the Royal Court.  (Don’t forget to nominate your German shepherd alumnus for this fun fundraiser.  Bring a photo attached  to a coffee can for your entry.  Bring quarters, too , to “vote” for our Royal Court and to raise money for German Shepherd Rescue.  We don’t mind if you start collecting votes early!)

an RSVP is required if you want to  attend the picnic.  We need to know the names of the dogs and the number of people attending.

Also, please let us know if you will be in the parade.  We are  requesting  that  you bring a  side dish or entrée to share with at least four people if your last name begins with an a through l.  If your last name begins with  m through z please bring a dessert to share.  Please  remember to take home any serving items you bring and any left over food.
